Fund raising Dinner for New HMB Community Hall May 11th at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort

The BC Lions GM and Coach, Wally Buono fundraiser for the new Coopers Green Community hall was organized by Clarence Chow, Rockwater Secret Cove Resort and Garry Nohr, Director for Halfmoon Bay. It was attended by 96 guests and resulted in a donation of $9000 to the new hall project. Don Cunliffe, Allison Feenstra and Alick Troup represented Halfmoon Bay Community Association Board, also in attendance was Brian Smith along other members of the Fundraising Committee. Head of the committee, Don Cunliffe presented the current status of the fundraising plan and handed out the ‘Case for Support’ brochure.

Feedback on the evening was that it was a fun and successful event.


HBCoA Bursary 2016

Each year HBCoA gives a bursary to a Halfmoon Bay Student to further their studies. The 2016 bursary was given to Colleen Imbreau.

The award was presented by Carlos Velcic and Toni Morris.

Drop in and play Pickleball! The fastest growing sport in North America, Pickleball, is played on Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Plan to arrive by 7.00 pm for registration. Dress appropriately (runners & work out gear). All other equipment (racquets and balls) are provided. Cost is $3 per session or $20 for 8 sessions. There are 3 courts, one dedicated to beginners with instruction provided, the other two follow the ‘level play’ format set out by the Sunshine Coast Pickleball Association.
